Overview

Finago Procountor is a cloud financial management system from Finago, part of Accountor, based in Espoo, Finland. The company says more than 30,000 Finnish companies use it. In one browser-based system it covers sales invoicing, purchase invoice verification and approval, bookkeeping, cost accounting dimensions and payroll. It also has a mobile app for receipts and approvals. Companies can run it themselves or share it with an outside accounting office, and that shared setup is very common in Finland. Pricing works differently from most competitors. You pay no per-user fees and can add unlimited users for your company and your accountant. Instead, there are seven monthly packages, from First at 4 euros to Unlimited at 1,949.90 euros excluding VAT. They differ by how many vouchers (transactions) are included each month, how many people you can run payroll for, how many approvers you can have, and invoicing options such as group, work item and contract invoicing. Transactions above the monthly allowance are billed per voucher. New customers pay a 169.90 euro quick start fee, which is optional. The product has a documented REST API with OAuth2 and webhooks, a partner certification program, and third-party connectors from Apideck, Unified.to, Qvalia (Peppol e-invoicing), Cloudbeds and SparkReceipt. Finago also sells a related business bank account and e-signing tools. The main limitation is how closely it is tied to Finland. The product, its accounting office ecosystem and its regulatory focus are all Finnish, and independent English-language user reviews are almost nonexistent. Package prices also rise steeply once transaction volumes grow.

Less suited

  • Solo entrepreneurs are offered a separate, simpler product, Procountor Solo.
