Overview
Zoho Books is the online accounting application within Zoho's product suite. It provides double-entry bookkeeping, quotes and recurring invoices, a customer portal with online payments, bank feeds and reconciliation, bills and vendor management, and more than 50 standard reports including profit and loss and the balance sheet. US editions also handle sales and use tax tracking, W-9 management, and 1099 preparation and e-filing. Higher plans add sales and purchase orders, multi-currency, project billing, inventory tracking, approvals and custom workflows. Premium adds budgets, cash flow forecasting and fixed assets. Elite adds warehouses, serial and batch tracking, and marketplace connections to Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Shopify. Ultimate adds advanced analytics built on Zoho Analytics. Pricing is a flat fee per organization, not per user. There is a free plan for one user plus an accountant. Paid US plans range from 15 to 240 dollars per month on annual billing, with each tier raising the user and transaction limits. Extra users, locations, document scans, expense claims and BillPay are sold as add-ons. Its strongest integrations are with other Zoho apps such as CRM, Payroll, Inventory and Analytics, plus payment gateways and partner banks. It also supports AI agent connections through MCP. The main drawback is that many useful features sit in the expensive upper tiers, and reviewers often criticise slow or unhelpful support. Third-party integrations are also fewer than those of QuickBooks or Xero.
