Overview
EspoCRM is an open-source CRM developed by Letrium LTD, a small team based in Ukraine. It covers leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities and support cases. It also includes email sync and sending, templates and mass email, simple workflows, a visual BPM engine, reports, roles-based permissions, and a customer self-service portal. Its biggest strength is the Entity Manager. Administrators can create custom entities, fields, relationships and layouts without writing code, which makes it popular with teams whose processes don't fit an off-the-shelf CRM. The core is free to self-host under the AGPL-3.0 licence. Self-hosted users buy paid extensions such as the Advanced Pack, which covers BPM and reporting. The cloud version is priced per user per month and billed for six months or a year. Basic costs 12.90 euros with a three-user minimum. Enterprise costs 22 euros with a five-user minimum. Ultimate costs 59 euros with a ten-user minimum and runs on a private server. Every cloud plan includes all official extensions: Sales Pack, Project Management, VoIP, Google, Outlook, Mailchimp, Zoom, Stripe and Meeting Scheduler. Cloud plans also include API access, daily backups and support 12 hours a day, five days a week. Hosting is available in the US or Germany. The main drawback is setup effort. Reviewers say defining entities, roles and automations takes planning and some technical skill, and the documentation can be thin. A few reviewers also reported slow performance with very large datasets.
