Overview
Clay is a spreadsheet-style platform for go-to-market data. Teams build tables of companies and people, then enrich them through waterfalls across more than 150 data providers, so Clay tries the next provider when one returns nothing. Its AI research agent, Claygent, browses the web to answer custom questions about accounts. Signals such as job changes, new hires, company news and web intent can trigger automated workflows. Results can be synced to a CRM or warehouse, or sent to email sequencers. Clay is not a traditional CRM. It has no pipeline, deal or support ticket management. It sits in front of HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive or Close and keeps their data clean and complete. It suits growth, RevOps and outbound teams, and the agencies that build these workflows for clients. Pricing uses two meters, Actions and Data Credits, and every plan includes unlimited seats. Free gives 500 actions and 100 credits a month. Launch costs $185 a month, or $167 a month billed annually. Growth costs $495 a month, or $446 a month billed annually. Enterprise is quoted. CRM auto-sync, warehouse sync, the HTTP API and webhooks start at Growth. Top-ups cost 30 percent more than plan credits. The main drawback is complexity. Reviewers consistently describe a steep learning curve, and several say credits run out quickly while workflows are still being tuned. Standard syncs run once a day outside Enterprise.
