Trello is a visual work management tool owned by Atlassian. Work is organized into boards, lists, and cards. Cards hold assignees, due dates, checklists, attachments, and comments, and they move across lists as work progresses. Recent additions include an Inbox and quick capture from email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, a Planner for scheduling, card mirroring, and AI features on paid plans. Built-in Butler automation runs rules and commands, with monthly run caps on the lower tiers. Integrations come through Power-Ups, which are unlimited per board even on the Free plan, though some partner Power-Ups charge their own fees. Pricing is per user. The Free plan covers up to 10 collaborators and 10 boards per Workspace. Standard costs $5 per user per month billed annually ($6 monthly) and adds unlimited boards, custom fields, and 1,000 command runs. Premium costs $10 per user per month billed annually ($12.50 monthly) and adds Calendar, Timeline, Table, Dashboard, and Map views, admin controls, and unlimited automation. Enterprise is $17.50 per user per month billed annually and includes Atlassian Guard Standard for SSO and user provisioning. Guard can also be bought separately for lower tiers. Trello suits small teams, startups, freelancers, and marketing or content teams that want a fast, low-training way to track work. Its main limitation is depth. There is no native time tracking or true Gantt dependency planning, reporting is thin, and reviewers say crowded boards and work spread across many boards become hard to manage at larger scale.
