Overview
Statrys is a payment platform based in Hong Kong. It is built for small and medium-sized companies incorporated in Hong Kong, Singapore and the BVI, and it suits trading firms with links to Hong Kong or China especially well. The core Business Account holds 11 currencies under one account number: HKD, USD, EUR, CNY, GBP, SGD, JPY, AUD, CHF, NZD and CAD. It also offers local receiving details in GBP, EUR, CHF, DKK and AUD. Around the account, Statrys adds virtual and physical Mastercard payment cards, spot currency conversion, sales-assisted forward hedging, an invoicing tool that reconciles against the account, a transaction-based accounting service, and company incorporation and secretary services. Opening the account is free. There is no monthly fee unless you make fewer than five outgoing payments in a month, in which case HKD 88 is charged. Transfers are priced per transaction, for example HKD 85 to send by SWIFT, and FX markups start at 0.1%. The accounting service starts at about HKD 891 per month and is tiered by transaction volume. Incorporating a Hong Kong company costs HKD 8,750 at the standard price. The account takes payouts from Stripe, PayPal, Shopify and Amazon, and it connects to Xero. Teams get four roles for segregation of duties, one of which is an accountant role. Statrys is not a bank. It is licensed as a Money Service Operator in Hong Kong and as a Major Payment Institution in Singapore, and client funds are held in segregated accounts at DBS without deposit insurance. Its main limitations are eligibility rules that mostly exclude companies outside Asia, no native batch payments, and narrower currency coverage than Wise or Airwallex.
