Overview
Infor CloudSuite Industrial, still widely known as SyteLine, is an ERP system for small and midsize manufacturers. It started as Syman at Symix, passed through Frontstep and MAPICS, and was renamed SyteLine by Infor in 2005. Infor now sells it as the SMB counterpart to Infor LN in its industrial manufacturing lineup. On the finance side it covers general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, intercompany trade and taxation, and visibility across multiple entities. It ties these to manufacturing through actual, standard, FIFO, LIFO and lot-specific costing. Its main differentiator is built-in advanced planning and scheduling for engineer-to-order, make-to-order and make-to-stock work. The multi-tenant cloud edition runs on AWS and is updated quarterly on Infor OS, and on-premises SyteLine is still offered. Infor Leap moves on-premises customers to the cloud, and the Velocity Suite adds AI agents, process mining and RPA. Infor publishes no list prices; quotes come through Infor or certified partners. Third-party estimates put cloud subscriptions at roughly $150 to $300, or £100 to £200, per user per month. A mid-market implementation is estimated at £80,000 to £400,000 or more, taking six to twelve months. It suits high-mix manufacturers that need costing and scheduling to sit next to the books. It is a poor fit for service firms or anyone looking for standalone accounting. The main limitations reported by reviewers are a dated interface, a long and services-heavy setup, and migration effort for older on-premises installs.

Who Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is best for
Good fit
It is built for discrete, mixed-mode and engineer-to-order manufacturers and ships with advanced planning and scheduling.
Infor positions SyteLine for small and midsize businesses, and G2 calls it well suited to smaller and midmarket manufacturers.
Less suited
It offers solid GL, AP and costing tied to operations, but it is an ERP rather than a finance-first tool.
Implementation costs estimated at £80,000 or more put it out of reach for most very small firms.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Advanced planning and scheduling is built in, with finite and infinite scheduling and what-if simulation, so APS does not need to be bought separately.
- Costing methods (actual, standard, FIFO, LIFO, lot-specific) connect shop-floor activity directly to the general ledger.
- Customers can choose between the cloud and on-premises editions, and one reviewer found it easier to customise than SAP.
- Long-term users describe it as a stable system, and one reviewer has run it for 19 years.
- It covers multiple entities and intercompany trade, with deployments in more than 100 countries and 17 languages.
Cons
- No public pricing, and third-party estimates put implementation at £80,000 to £400,000 or more.
- Reviewers repeatedly call the interface dated and clunky compared with newer cloud ERPs.
- Setup takes a long time, and reviewers report a steep learning curve for administrators.
- Moving from on-premises SyteLine to the cloud through Infor Leap can be a services-heavy project.
- It is broad manufacturing ERP, which is more than firms that only need accounting require.
