Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

IFS Cloud is the main platform from IFS, a Swedish-founded software company now based in London. It combines ERP, enterprise asset management and field service management, and finance is one module inside that suite rather than a standalone accounting product. The finance module has a general ledger that handles several companies, currencies and reporting dimensions, plus parallel ledgers, currency revaluation and year-end routines. It also covers fixed assets with lease accounting, accounts payable and receivable with rule-based supplier invoice approval and automated matching, and a cash book for importing bank transactions and matching them to open items. Further areas include expense administration, project finance with revenue recognition, cash planning, business planning for budgets and forecasts, and automated group consolidation with intercompany eliminations. E-invoicing runs through a partnership with Pagero, and country formats such as FatturaPA and SII are supported. Reports can be built with IFS Business Reporter, Excel and Power BI. The product suits mid-sized and large companies in aerospace and defense, energy and utilities, construction and engineering, manufacturing and service industries. IFS does not publish prices. Every deal is quoted, and one review site lists a starting point of about 250,000 dollars for a perpetual licence, with cloud subscriptions also available. G2 reviewers report implementations averaging about 10 months. The main drawbacks are cost and complexity: configuration and permissions are hard to manage, some users report slow reports and searches, and the system is far too heavy for small businesses that only need bookkeeping.
