Billomat

5.6/10

Cloud invoicing and light bookkeeping software for German freelancers and small businesses, with quotes, reminders, bank matching, receipt capture and DATEV export.

Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

Billomat is a cloud invoicing and bookkeeping tool from Nuremberg, founded in 2007. It was later owned by Müller Medien and has been part of the Berlin fintech aifinyo AG since 2022. It covers the document cycle for German businesses: quotes, order confirmations, delivery notes, invoices, corrections and dunning reminders. It also includes simple CRM, inventory lists, recording of incoming invoices, a customer portal and income-surplus accounting (EÜR). The banking link matches incoming and outgoing payments to open invoices. A mobile app scans and categorises receipts. Accountants work in the account through tax advisor access, the DATEV Buchungsdatenservice or a DATEV export. Invoices can be issued in several currencies, and XRechnung e-invoices are supported. It suits freelancers, agencies, consultancies and small e-commerce sellers who invoice in Germany. There is a WooCommerce plugin and a REST API. Pricing has three plans, billed monthly or at a discount yearly, and every plan comes with a 14-day trial. Professional costs from 29 euros per month, has a limit of 30 documents a month and supports one user. Business costs from 39 euros, has no document limit and charges 10 euros for each extra user. Enterprise costs from 119 euros, includes five users and adds personal support. The main limitation is that Billomat is not full double-entry accounting. Testers note there is no profit and loss statement, no BWA, no standard chart of accounts and no cash book. Users also report slow load times and a confusing interface redesign, so most firms still need a tax advisor's software for their annual accounts.
