Overview

Axonaut is a web-based management suite built in Toulouse for French very small businesses (TPE) and small and medium businesses (PME). Its finance side covers quotes and invoices, including recurring invoices and subscriptions, and automated payment reminders. It captures supplier invoices with OCR and handles expense reports. It also offers bank synchronisation with reconciliation, a cash-flow dashboard, and automated sales and expense journals that you can export to accounting tools such as Sage, Ibiza and Cegid. Your accountant can connect for free through a dedicated portal. Beyond finance, the same subscription includes CRM, stock, projects, HR records, ticketing, appointment booking, and basic email and SMS marketing. Axonaut also offers its own business account with a French IBAN and physical and virtual cards. It is registered as an approved platform (Plateforme Agréée) for the French e-invoicing reform. Customers can pay invoices online through Stripe, GoCardless or PayPal. Pricing is one all-inclusive plan per user. It costs 97 euros per user per month with no commitment, with discounts of 20, 30 or 40 percent for 1, 2 or 3 year commitments. Businesses with 10 or more employees get a quoted plan that adds an account manager, onboarding and data migration. Some external services are billed separately, such as e-signature, postal mail and online payment fees. The main limitation is that Axonaut is a pre-accounting tool rather than a full double-entry ledger. Reviewers also say it has few native integrations, no payroll, and no handling of several companies in one account. It fits French micro-businesses better than complex or international organisations.

Who Axonaut is best for

Good fit

  • The standard plan is designed for French businesses with fewer than 10 employees and bundles every module.

  • Quotes, projects, recurring invoicing and CRM fit service agencies.

  • Solo users get invoicing, a business account and accountant access in one tool, though the per-user price is high for one person.

  • Early French companies get CRM, invoicing and cash tracking in one place without paying for separate tools.

Less suited

  • Reviewers say it lacks support for several companies and is not suited to complex businesses.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • One plan per user covers invoicing, expenses, cash flow, CRM, stock, projects, HR and ticketing, so there are no feature tiers to compare.
  • Registered as an approved e-invoicing platform (Plateforme Agréée) for the French e-invoicing reform.
  • Accountants get free access through a dedicated portal, and journals can be exported to Sage, Ibiza and Cegid.
  • Reviewers rate the French support team as responsive and available by chat, email and phone.
  • Includes a business account with a French IBAN and physical and virtual cards, alongside online invoice payment through Stripe, GoCardless or PayPal.

Cons

  • It is a pre-accounting tool without a full double-entry general ledger, so you still need an accountant.
  • Reviewers say it has few native integrations and relies on Zapier for many connections.
  • It cannot manage several companies in one account, and the HR module does not produce payslips.
  • Marketing and CRM are basic, with limited automation and limited dashboard customisation.
  • The no-commitment price of 97 euros per user per month gets expensive as the team grows.
