Overview

ANNA (ANNA Money) is a mobile-first business account for UK-registered sole traders, limited companies and LLPs. It is an e-money provider, not a bank. Cards and the main account are issued by PayrNet, which is authorised by the FCA. Funds are safeguarded but not covered by the FSCS. A separate savings account through Griffin Bank is FSCS-protected. Alongside the account, ANNA handles business admin. It creates quotes and invoices, chases unpaid invoices automatically, and offers payment links and QR codes for card payments. You can photograph receipts and ANNA categorises them, and expense cards can be issued to staff. Bulk payments can be used to pay wages. The +Taxes and Auto Accountant services add bookkeeping, VAT and Corporation Tax filing, PAYE payroll, and Making Tax Digital filing for Self Assessment. There are four monthly plans. Free costs nothing and you pay per use. Grow is £12.90 plus VAT, Business is £22.90 plus VAT, and Big Business is £59.90 plus VAT. The plans differ in free transfers, the number of cards, and ATM and SWIFT fees. Auto Accountant costs £29 a month after a four-month free period. ANNA connects with Xero, Sage, Stripe, Shopify, Etsy, Amazon, eBay and WooCommerce. ANNA suits UK micro-businesses that want banking and tax admin in one app. Its main limitations are that it is UK-only, offers only USD, EUR and CHF currency accounts, and has no FSCS cover on the main account. Reviewers also report sudden account freezes and closures with little explanation.
