Overview
ADempiere is an open-source business suite that began in September 2006 as a fork of Compiere. A community foundation maintains it, not a commercial vendor. CRM is one part of a wider ERP that also covers financial management, materials and production, inventory, projects and services, point of sale, and workflow-based process modeling. On the CRM side, the project documents business partner and contact records, customer requests, prospect tracking, and credit rules. Because CRM shares a database with orders, invoicing and accounting, a customer's history runs from first contact through to payment. The software is licensed under GPL v2. It has no paid editions, licence fees or subscriptions. The real costs are hosting, implementation and any consultants you hire. Deployment options are Docker, Helm, a Kubernetes operator, and binary downloads. Users can access it through a Java desktop client, a web client, or a newer Vue-based interface. An active data dictionary lets administrators change windows, workflows and reports without editing core code, and reporting can integrate with Jasper Reports. It fits small and mid-sized companies, or service partners, that want ERP and CRM together and have in-house technical staff. Its main limitation is that it is not a modern sales CRM. The interface looks dated, setup needs technical skill, support comes from the community and documentation rather than a helpdesk, and there is little public review evidence to go on.

There are no licence fees, but a small business needs technical staff or a partner to self-host and configure it.
It is customizable, but one user reported instability under heavy concurrent use, and the project offers no vendor support.
There are no licence fees, but implementation and hosting costs and the technical effort are significant.
It lacks the modern pipeline, automation and calling tools that dedicated sales CRMs offer.
