Overview

Workzone is a long-established cloud project management platform for cross-functional departments such as marketing, operations, PMOs and IT. Its customers include hospitals, universities and financial services firms. Projects can be viewed as lists, Gantt charts or Kanban boards, with a portfolio view across all projects. Request intake forms route incoming work, and the proofing tools let reviewers mark up, comment on and sign off documents, images and video with version tracking. Other features include workload and capacity views, time and expense tracking, dashboards, and more than 1,000 templates. The vendor's main selling point is service. Every plan includes unlimited human support and training, the Team plan adds a dedicated success manager, and the vendor reports that customers go live in three to four weeks on average. Pricing is per user and billed annually only. Starter costs 8 USD per user per month for 1 to 25 users and up to 100 active projects. Team costs 20 USD per user per month with a 5-user minimum. Enterprise is custom-priced and charges only for core users, with free collaborators and reviewers. Workzone says it connects to more than 9,000 tools and handles integration setup itself, but integrations, APIs, SSO, custom fields and cross-project dependencies are listed only on Enterprise. AI features for drafting plans and turning text into tasks are self-hosted. The main limitation is that much of the advanced functionality, including integrations and custom fields, sits behind the custom Enterprise tier. Reviewers also mention a learning curve, missing spreadsheet-style formulas, and the lack of an undo for deleted tasks.
