6.2/10

SS&C Tier1 is a Salesforce-based modular CRM for sell-side capital markets teams and investment banks, covering client coverage, deal management, and compliance controls.

Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

SS&C Tier1 is a CRM built for the sell side of financial services. It serves research, trading, and sales teams in capital markets groups, and it provides deal management for investment banking. The product runs on Salesforce and extends that platform with financial-services modules. One example is a security engine that keeps private transactional data, such as deal information, separate from shared account and contact records. This lets markets and banking divisions work in the same CRM while staying within compliance walls. Other parts of the product include Tier1 for Outlook, which brings CRM data and mass-email tools into Microsoft Outlook, a mobile app, and integrations with internal client systems and third-party industry data providers. The vendor also mentions AI and ML-driven insights and real-time alerts. SS&C Technologies bought Tier1's CRM business from Tier1 Financial Solutions in August 2022. At that point the business had more than 30 enterprise clients in the US, Canada, and the UK and more than 60 staff, and it was placed in SS&C's Salentica unit. Pricing is not published. Buyers request a demo and receive a quote, and they will generally need Salesforce licensing alongside Tier1. The product suits banks and broker-dealers that need regulated, industry-specific workflows on Salesforce. It is a poor fit for general businesses, and independent public reviews are scarce, which makes outside evaluation hard.
