Overview

Clockify is a time tracking app made by CAKE.com, which began as the Serbian company COING. You can log time with a timer, a timesheet, a calendar view, an auto tracker, or a kiosk, and the time is organized by client, project, and task. Clockify works more as a time and project-cost layer than as a full project management tool. It has no kanban boards, docs, or whiteboards, and CAKE.com sells those workflows in its sister product Plaky. Paid tiers add billable rates, approvals, time off, invoicing, and attendance. The Pro tier adds scheduling, forecasting, expenses, budgets, labor cost and profit reports, GPS tracking, and activity monitoring. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, and audit logs. Pricing is per seat, and every active or invited user takes a seat. Plans run from a free tier to Enterprise at 14.99 USD per seat per month, with about 20 percent off on annual billing. A bundle that adds Pumble chat and Plaky project management costs 15.99 USD. Native integrations added recently include Jira two-way sync, QuickBooks, Xero, and Peppol e-invoicing, and browser extensions add timer buttons inside many web apps. The product suits freelancers, agencies, and small to mid-sized teams that bill by the hour. The main limitations are weak mobile sync and limited depth in reporting customization. Buyers should also know that in August 2026 one of the Serbian group entities was reported to be in liquidation. Clockify was still shipping updates as of November 2026.

Who Clockify is best for

Good fit

  • The free tier offers unlimited tracking, and setup takes minutes.

  • Billable rates, invoicing, and budget and profit reporting suit client billing.

  • Per-project rates, approvals, and invoicing support hourly consulting.

  • Cheap per-seat plans, and kiosk and attendance features cover staff hours.

  • The low entry cost suits startups, though one reviewer found paid tiers a little pricey for a new company.

Less suited

  • Mid-Market
    6/10

SSO, SCIM, and audit logs exist, but reviewers say the interface gets cluttered as teams grow.

  • It has security certifications, but it is a narrow time tool and some reviewers question how it scales.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The free tier gives unlimited time tracking with a timer, a timesheet, and desktop and mobile apps.
  • Paid plans are inexpensive, from 4.99 to 14.99 USD per seat per month.
  • A broad feature set covers kiosk clock-in, attendance, time off, invoicing, and expenses in one tool.
  • Enterprise security includes SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, SSO, SCIM, and audit logs.
  • Integrations shipped in 2026 include Jira two-way sync, Xero, and Peppol.

Cons

  • Reviewers report that the mobile app syncs poorly with desktop and lags.
  • Reports and dashboards are hard to customize, and the free plan limits reports to one month of data.
  • Useful features such as approvals, invoicing, and scheduling sit behind paid tiers.
  • It lacks project management basics such as kanban boards and docs, which require Plaky.
  • In August 2026 a Serbian group entity was reported to be in liquidation, which raises vendor-stability questions.
