Overview
Mailrelay is an email marketing service run from Madrid. It covers newsletters, automation, SMS and transactional email. Its main draw is the free plan, which allows 80,000 emails a month to as many as 20,000 contacts. Open and click tracking and most core features are included on that free plan. Every plan comes with a drag-and-drop editor with AI-assisted template creation, A/B testing, RSS campaigns, dynamic segments with tags and contact scoring, signup forms, landing pages, and a visual automation builder. The automation builder supports SMS steps, webhooks and abandoned-cart flows. Paid Standard and Enterprise plans are tiered by email volume, from 100,000 up to 10,000,000 emails a month. They add a priority sending queue, chat support, WhatsApp campaigns and transactional SMTP/API, and they remove the Mailrelay logo. Enterprise also adds phone support. Note that the Standard plan does not include open and click tracking. Monthly plans require a 12-month commitment, while prepaid email packs carry no commitment. Free-plan users can buy extras such as transactional email at 14.95 EUR a month, WhatsApp at 9.95 EUR a month and logo removal at 4.95 EUR a month. Dedicated IPs start at 600 EUR a year. On integrations, there are official WordPress and WooCommerce plugins, a REST API limited to 250 requests per five minutes, webhooks, Make, and a beta MCP server. The biggest gaps are that there is no native Shopify app and no official Zapier app. Data is stored in the EU. The service suits cost-conscious European small businesses, especially Spanish-speaking ones and WooCommerce stores. Reviewers say the automation is less deep than at larger competitors.
