Overview
Dronedesk is a browser-based operations platform for commercial drone operators. It is made by Grey Rock Innovations Ltd, which has offices in Exeter in the UK and in New York. It covers the work around each flight. Pilots plan jobs against live airspace data, NOTAMs, weather and ground hazard data. They fill in checklists and risk assessments, export PDF job packs, and log flights by syncing with DJI or uploading log files. The same system records drones, batteries and their maintenance history, tracks pilot certifications and flight hours, and handles client records, quotes and invoices. Third-party listings also mention SORA risk assessment tooling, which the vendor sells as an add-on. It suits drone service providers of every size, from solo part-time pilots to inspection teams at utilities and emergency services. There are four plans. Startup is for a single user and is capped at three jobs a month. Pro adds unlimited jobs, configurable checklists and risk assessments, and DJI auto-sync, with extra users billed per seat. Unlimited is billed annually with unlimited users. Specialist is quoted on request and adds invoicing, first responder setups and white labelling. Annual billing gives roughly two months free. The vendor's pricing page did not show amounts when we checked, and third-party listings quote different USD figures. Integrations include DJI, AirData, Dronelink, Altitude Angel, Google Drive, Dropbox and Google Calendar. The main limitation is that there is no native mobile or offline app and no public API. Dronedesk also does not process imagery, map assets, or fly drones autonomously, so inspection teams still need separate software for data capture and analysis.

Who Dronedesk is best for
Good fit
It is built specifically for commercial drone operators, covering planning, compliance, logging and client billing.
The single-user Startup and Pro plans suit solo pilots, though Startup's limit of three jobs a month is restrictive.
Small drone businesses get CRM, quoting and invoicing alongside flight operations tools.
Less suited
The Specialist plan offers first responder configuration, and volunteer search and rescue groups can get free plans.
Utility drone teams are named as target users and can use the Unlimited and Specialist plans, but the product does not analyse inspection data.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Users frequently praise support. Trustpilot rates it 4.8 out of 5 from 295 reviews, and the vendor replies to every negative review.
- Live airspace, NOTAM and weather data in planning speeds up pre-flight paperwork and helps with CAA audit readiness.
- Combines operations with CRM, quoting and invoicing, so a small drone business can avoid using a separate business system.
- DJI flight log auto-sync and AirData integration cut down on manual logbook entry.
- Free plans are available for volunteer search and rescue groups, and SourceForge reports a 90-day money-back guarantee.
Cons
- There is no native iOS or Android app and no offline mode, so the internet is needed in the field.
- Forms, checklists and risk assessment templates cannot be fully customised, and configuration is locked out of Startup.
- Third-party listings report no public API.
- Some reviewers find it pricey for moderate use and say there is a learning curve.
- One reviewer reports slow loading when there are large numbers of jobs.
- It does not process imagery or map inspection data, and it does not fly autonomous missions.
