YellowScan CloudStation
5.8/10Desktop LiDAR processing software from YellowScan for turning UAV LiDAR flights into adjusted, classified, colorized point clouds and terrain models.

Overview
CloudStation is YellowScan's desktop software for processing data from its own UAV LiDAR sensors. Although the name suggests otherwise, it is not cloud-based. It detects flight strips automatically, handles multi-flight projects, and can display very large point clouds in a 3D viewer with measurement tools. Users can remove outliers, adjust strips with ground control points and XYZ constraints, smooth ranging noise, classify ground and non-ground points, and colorize points from camera imagery or external orthophotos. Outputs include LAS, GeoTIFF DSM, DTM and DHM, hillshades, contour lines, and SHP, KML and DXF files. The software suits survey firms, drone service providers, and engineering teams that already fly YellowScan systems for topography, mining, forestry, and corridor mapping. It comes in three bundles. Essential covers visualization, colorization, export, and SBET generation through Trimble Applanix POSPac or SBG Qinertia. Pro, which YellowScan recommends, adds strip adjustment, adjustment reports, trajectory QC, contours, and terrain exports. Ultimate adds orthophoto generation and YTK command-line batch processing for servers. Licenses are annual and floating, so one license can be installed on any number of computers. Each license includes a year of maintenance, support, and updates. YellowScan does not publish prices, so buyers have to request a quote. Integrations include POSPac, Qinertia, and upload to ATIS.Cloud. The main limitation is that CloudStation is built around YellowScan's own raw data formats, so it is not a general processor for other vendors' sensors.
Our Rating
Who YellowScan CloudStation is best for
Good fit
It is built to process UAV LiDAR flights from YellowScan sensors right after acquisition.
It exports DTMs, contours, and DXF files, which suit civil engineering and survey deliverables.
Less suited
It produces terrain models and contours useful for earthworks, but only for teams that use YellowScan hardware.
It has no work order or maintenance management features.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Floating licenses let a team install the software on as many computers as it needs
- Data can be checked for coverage and quality in the field right after a flight
- Strip adjustment with GCPs comes with a report, which helps with survey QA
- Exports cover the usual survey deliverables: LAS, GeoTIFF DTM, DSM and DHM, SHP, KML, and DXF
- The Ultimate bundle adds command-line batch processing for server workflows
- The vendor says it ships new releases about every three weeks
Cons
- No public pricing, so buyers must request a quote
- It is tied to YellowScan sensor data and is not a general processor for other LiDAR systems
- It runs on the desktop only, despite the cloud in its name
- I found no independent user reviews on major review sites
- Orthophoto generation and batch processing are only in the top bundle

Frequently Asked Questions
No. YellowScan states it is desktop software. It can upload data to ATIS.Cloud.
It is sold as an annual floating license with one year of maintenance, support, and updates. The license can be installed on as many computers as needed.
There are three: Essential, Pro (recommended by the vendor), and Ultimate. Ultimate adds orthophoto generation and YTK command-line batch processing.
LAS (including classified LAS), GeoTIFF DSM, DTM and DHM, hillshade, SHP, KML, and DXF.
Yes. It generates SBETs through Trimble Applanix POSPac or SBG Qinertia, and LiDAR Magazine reported in 2026 that closer POSPac integration is in the works.
Earlier coverage said it came with a YellowScan LiDAR system. Current sales are annual license bundles priced on request.
