Overview
Upbase is a web and mobile project management app aimed at small agencies and service businesses that run client work. Each client gets a dashboard that gathers its projects, with separate internal and client-facing versions, and you can share a single task or file with a client instead of the whole project. Inside each project are tasks in list, board and calendar views, docs, files, links, threaded messages and real-time chat. A personal Planner offers weekly planner, weekly calendar, monthly calendar and timeline views. Upbase also includes time tracking, estimated time, profitability tracking by project and client (revenue, labor cost, expenses and margin), and an AI assistant for drafting and breaking down work. Pricing has three plans. The Free plan allows unlimited members and tasks but caps you at 5 projects, 3 free guests, 5 MB files and 30 days of chat history. Premium costs $10 per user per month and unlocks custom fields, automations, recurring tasks, timesheets, the timeline view and two-way Google Calendar sync. Unlimited costs a flat $99 per month for unlimited users with the same features. Upbase says annual billing saves up to 33%, but it does not publish the annual prices. Integrations are limited to Google Calendar, embedded Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, and a Chrome extension. The public API was still listed as in progress. The main limitation is that the ecosystem is narrow and the tool is young. Its security page names no certifications, there are few reviews, and some reviewers say the automations are basic.
