Teable
6.8/10Teable is an open-source, AI-assisted no-code database on PostgreSQL that gives teams a spreadsheet interface, app builder and automations, as cloud or self-hosted.
Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology
Overview
Teable is a no-code database with a spreadsheet-style front end. Each table is stored in a real PostgreSQL database, so teams can run SQL against it and connect BI or ETL tools directly. It offers grid, form, kanban, gallery and calendar views, plus formulas, filtering, grouping, comments, record history and real-time co-editing. Recent releases are built around AI: a chat that queries and edits data, AI fields that fill cells in bulk, an App Builder that turns data into deployed internal apps, and automations triggered by record changes, schedules or webhooks. Slack and Telegram bots are also included. It suits small and mid-sized teams that have outgrown spreadsheets, want an Airtable-style tool at a lower per-seat cost, or need to self-host. The Community Edition is AGPL-licensed and free to self-host. The cloud Free plan allows 1,000 rows per space. Billed annually, Pro costs $13 per seat per month and Business costs $20. Higher tiers raise row, storage, automation and AI-credit limits, and Business adds SSO and domain verification. An add-on for extra automation runs costs $10 to $12 per space per month. The main limitations are a thin native integration ecosystem, which relies largely on the API and webhooks, and AI credits that can run out quickly with heavy App Builder use. There are also no dedicated project-management features such as Gantt charts or time tracking, and one independent review reports that audit logs are missing.

Who Teable is best for
Good fit
It is a no-code spreadsheet database, and AppSumo reviewers praise how easy it is to use.
There is a free tier, paid seats cost less than Airtable's, and AI helps a team build an app quickly.
It offers spreadsheet databases, automations and an internal app builder for teams that have outgrown spreadsheets.
Less suited
Data sits in real PostgreSQL tables you can query with SQL, and there is a REST API and webhooks.
It has a self-hostable AGPL edition and SSO on Business, but no audit logs yet.
The Business plan supports up to 1M rows and SSO, but audit logs and the integration ecosystem are limited.
Self-hosting and Postgres access suit data control, but compliance features such as audit logs reportedly lag.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Data lives in real PostgreSQL tables, so teams can query it with SQL and connect external BI or ETL tools.
- The free AGPL Community Edition can be self-hosted with Docker for full control over data.
- Annual paid seats ($13 for Pro, $20 for Business) cost less than comparable Airtable tiers.
- SSO is included in the Business plan without an enterprise contract.
- AI chat, AI fields and the App Builder let non-developers build schemas and internal apps from a description.
Cons
- Few native integrations, so most connections rely on the REST API and webhooks.
- AI credits can be used up quickly during heavy App Builder use.
- An independent review reports that audit logs are not yet available.
- No Gantt chart, time tracking or other dedicated project-management features.
- Few reviews on major sites such as G2, so independent evidence is thin.
