Overview
Tata Communications is a global network and digital infrastructure company headquartered in Mumbai. Its cloud business, previously sold as IZO Cloud and renamed Tata Communications Vayu Cloud in 2025, brings together infrastructure and platform services. These include virtual machines, Kubernetes, serverless functions, block, file and object storage, and managed Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Redis, MariaDB, MongoDB and Cassandra. It also offers backup, snapshot and disaster recovery services, load balancers, firewalls, a WAF, VPN as a service, GitLab, Jenkins, a container registry, and GPU as a Service built on NVIDIA hardware. Around these sit managed hosting, dedicated cloud, migration and professional services. The platform is aimed at large enterprises, government, financial services and retail, plus AI startups and academic institutions. It suits buyers who want to keep data in India and combine cloud with Tata's own network connectivity. Tata says it has data centres in the UK, the US and Singapore, but Vayu-branded services are currently sold in India only. Pricing is usage-based and the vendor publishes a calculator, but it does not show a public price list. Tata markets the service as having no data egress fees and claims customers save 15 to 25 percent compared with the large hyperscalers. Gartner rates its managed cloud and hosting services 4.4 from 75 ratings, with reviewers praising responsive support. The main limitation is that this is a sales-led enterprise service, not a self-serve developer cloud. Pricing transparency, ecosystem depth and global reach for Vayu fall well short of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
