SurferCloud
4.6/10Singapore-based cloud provider selling low-cost VPS (ULightHost), elastic cloud servers (UHost), GPU servers, CDN and storage across Asia-heavy global data centers.
Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology
Overview
SurferCloud is a cloud hosting provider headquartered in Singapore. It sells two main compute lines. ULightHost is a lightweight VPS with bundled traffic and fixed monthly plans. UHost is an elastic cloud server line that supports hourly billing. Alongside these it offers GPU UHost for AI workloads in Hong Kong and Singapore, the UCDN content delivery network, UDisk block storage, US3 object storage, UDB MySQL databases, and networking products. Its data centers lean toward Asia, with locations in Hong Kong, Taipei, Manila, Tokyo, Seoul, Jakarta, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangkok and Mumbai. It also has sites in Dubai, Lagos, London, Frankfurt, Los Angeles, Virginia and Sao Paulo. Pricing is low at entry. In May 2025, ULightHost list prices started at about 6 USD a month for 1 vCPU and 2 GB RAM, and UHost started at about 16.57 USD a month. Deep first-period promotions are common, and renewals return to the list price. Payment by PayPal, card, Alipay and cryptocurrency is accepted without KYC checks. That draws developers who need cheap nodes in Asian locations that mainstream clouds serve less well. UHost carries a 99.95 percent availability SLA. The main limitation is reliability and support. Independent benchmarks rated CPU, disk and network performance poorly, and user reports describe outages, slow support and a strict refund policy. That makes it a better fit for test, edge or non-critical workloads than for production systems.
Our Rating
Who SurferCloud is best for
Good fit
Cheap root-access VPS nodes across many Asian regions, with an API, suit developers who are comfortable with manual setup.
Less suited
Low entry prices and hourly UHost billing help, but reliability reports make it risky for production.
It is affordable, but there are no one-click installers or managed hosting for non-technical users.
There is little evidence of compliance certifications, and users report poor support and outages.
