Overview
SkyeBrowse is a drone mapping platform. Instead of building 3D models from still photos, it uses patented videogrammetry, which combines frames from drone video. The mobile flight app flies a one-tap automated capture on supported DJI and Autel drones, usually in a few minutes. WideBrowse grid missions add cross-grid passes and side scans for facades. Uploaded footage is processed in the cloud within minutes into a model you can measure, annotate and share. Public safety is the main market. The vendor says more than 1,200 agencies use it for accident reconstruction, crime scenes and fire investigation. Its top tier adds CJIS compliance, chain of custody, crush and claims analysis, and Axon Evidence.com integration. Contractors, surveyors and engineering teams can use the Commercial and Pro tiers for volumes, topographic maps, sun and shadow studies, and exports to LAZ, GLB, GeoTIFF and CAD. Pricing is per model rather than per seat. The Freemium tier keeps 2 models at a time. Commercial costs $24.99 per model and Pro $49.99 per model, with 20% off on annual billing. Public Safety and Enterprise costs $199 per model, billed annually, and adds unlimited users and 5-year storage. Exported point clouds open in CloudCompare, Esri, Trimble, Leica and FARO tools. An Apple Vision Pro viewer is sold separately. The main limitation is that SkyeBrowse captures and visualizes reality. It is not an asset management or maintenance system. Its tools for infrastructure inspection analytics, LiDAR classification and asset records are thin compared with dedicated inspection platforms.
Our Rating
Who SkyeBrowse is best for
Good fit
Built mainly for police, fire and public safety agencies, with CJIS compliance and chain of custody.
Fast video-based capture and white labeling on Pro suit operators who deliver models to clients.
Per-model pricing from $24.99 and a free tier keep the entry cost low.
Less suited
Volume, topographic and site plan tools support site documentation, though it is not a construction-specific platform.
CAD and point cloud exports help, but the accuracy and analytics are lighter than survey-grade tools.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Videogrammetry builds a 3D model from a few minutes of drone video, which is faster to capture than photo grid missions.
- Per-model pricing starts at $24.99 and there is a free tier, so occasional users avoid seat licenses.
- The public safety tier has features that are rare in this category, such as CJIS compliance, chain of custody and Axon Evidence.com integration.
- Pro exports LAZ, GLB, GeoTIFF and CAD files that open in CloudCompare, Esri, Trimble, Leica and FARO tools.
- Drone support is broad and keeps growing, recently adding the DJI Matrice 4 series, Matrice 400 and Mini 4 Pro.
Cons
- It is mainly a reality capture and visualization tool, with no asset registry, work orders or maintenance workflows.
- Exports require Pro or higher, and the pricing page contradicts itself about exports on the Commercial plan.
- Commercial and Pro allow only up to 5 users and limit storage to 3 months or 1 year.
- Pilot Institute called the paid subscription steep, and most published coverage is vendor-sourced.
