Overview
ROCK Cloud is ROCK Robotic's web platform for drone LiDAR work. Users upload data, then process and classify point clouds, run analysis, and send results to clients. It classifies ground, buildings, vegetation, and streets, with tools for editing classes by hand. It can align datasets, merge them, and compare one with another. Other tools cover reprojecting into standard or custom coordinate systems, aligning to ground control points uploaded as a CSV, overlaying CAD drawings, calculating stockpile volumes and cut and fill, and hosting orthomosaics and splats. Every plan includes the ROCK Omni LiDAR pre-processing engine, the Omni photogrammetry engine, and an AI assistant called Rocky. ROCK Robotic is a Denver company that also makes drone LiDAR hardware, so the platform suits surveyors, drone service providers, and engineering, construction, and utility teams who fly ROCK sensors. ROCK says other LiDAR systems can be added if you contact support. Pricing is an annual subscription. Starter costs 2,000 USD a year for one user, 50 GB of storage, and 50 GB of streaming a month. Business costs 3,500 USD a year for 500 GB of storage, folders, portals, and branding. Enterprise costs 8,500 USD a year for three users, 2 TB of shared storage, custom roles, and regional storage. Each plan has a weekly processing allowance, and jobs beyond it are paid for with credits. Optional Pro Services produce surveyor deliverables, planimetrics, and vegetation encroachment reports for power line corridors. The main limitation is that the platform is closely tied to ROCK's own hardware ecosystem. Third-party integrations and export formats are thinly documented, and security details are not described publicly.
Our Rating
Who ROCK Cloud is best for
Good fit
It is built to turn drone LiDAR flights into deliverables that can be shared with clients.
Stockpile volume and cut and fill tools are aimed at earthworks sites.
Survey-grade classification, contours, DTMs, and CAD overlay all support civil and survey work.
Less suited
The vegetation management service covers encroachment and clearance analysis for line corridors.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Every plan includes all processing and analysis tools, and projects and sharing are unlimited.
- Prices for all three tiers are published on the vendor's site.
- Survey tools such as GCP alignment, reprojection, and volume and cut-and-fill calculation run in the browser, with no workstation needed.
- Clients can be sent branded portals and share links.
- Optional human-checked deliverables include vegetation encroachment reports for power line corridors.
Cons
- Billing is annual only, with no monthly option.
- Weekly processing caps are low on Starter, about one point cloud plus orthomosaic a week, and extra jobs need credits.
- The platform is centred on ROCK hardware. Other sensors must be added by contacting support.
- Export formats and third-party integrations are poorly documented.
- Security and compliance details are not published.
