Overview
HCLTech is an India-headquartered IT services company. It does not sell self-service hosting plans. It designs, migrates and runs infrastructure for large organisations. Its cloud work sits under a framework it calls CloudSMART, which covers cloud consulting, delivery and managed services. HCLTech is a managed services partner of AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. It also offers private and hybrid cloud services built on VMware Cloud Foundation and on Red Hat OpenShift, Enterprise Linux and Ansible. Other services include data center outsourcing, hybrid infrastructure managed services, managed networks and digital workplace services. Its FinOps practice adds cost monitoring, rightsizing, reserved-instance recommendations, tag management and governance reporting across clouds. The services suit enterprises and large mid-market companies that want one outsourcing partner to run estates spread across hyperscalers, private clouds and on-premises data centers. HCLTech publishes no prices. Engagements are scoped and contracted through sales, usually as multi-year managed services deals. The service runs on its partners' clouds rather than its own public cloud, so features such as compute, Kubernetes and storage come from AWS, Azure, Google or VMware and are run by HCLTech staff. HCLTech reports strong customer ratings on Gartner Peer Insights in several infrastructure markets, but most of that evidence comes from HCLTech's own press releases. The main limitation is that small teams and developers cannot simply sign up and deploy. Everything goes through a services engagement, and costs are not visible up front.

Pros & Cons
Pros

- Covers private cloud and data centers as well as public cloud, through VMware Cloud Foundation and Red Hat OpenShift and Ansible.
- Its FinOps practice includes rightsizing, reserved-instance advice, tag management and budget alerts.
- HCLTech reports Customers' Choice placements in several Gartner Peer Insights infrastructure markets, including data center outsourcing and hybrid infrastructure managed services. These placements are cited in HCLTech press materials.
Cons
- No public pricing, so costs are known only after a sales-led scoping exercise.
- No self-service hosting product, so developers and small businesses cannot sign up and deploy on their own.
- Runs on partner clouds rather than its own platform, so customers pay both hyperscaler fees and HCLTech's service fees.
- Much of the evidence for its quality comes from HCLTech's own press releases and sponsored media, and few independent reviews are available.
