Data last updated November 2026 · Our methodology

Overview

Cyso Cloud is the public cloud of the Dutch hosting company Cyso, which is headquartered in Alkmaar. The service began in 2016 as Fuga Cloud and was folded into Cyso and renamed in 2025. It runs on OpenStack in two regions, Amsterdam (AMS) and Frankfurt (FRA). Its services include standard, CPU-optimised and memory-optimised virtual machines, tiered block storage, S3-style object storage, load balancers, Anycast DNS, transactional email and a Gardener-based Enterprise Managed Kubernetes service. A managed database service is in beta and supports PostgreSQL only. Pricing is pay as you go. Usage is billed by the hour and invoiced monthly, with no setup fee. The smallest standard VM, with 2 vCPU and 8 GB of RAM, costs about 17.50 EUR a month. Object storage is 0.055 EUR per GB, and so is egress. A Kubernetes control plane costs 29.99 EUR a month, or 59.99 EUR for the highly available version. Volume discounts are available through sales. Because the platform uses the standard OpenStack API, teams can use the OpenStack CLI, Terraform and Ansible, which also makes it easier to move workloads to or from other OpenStack clouds. Cyso holds ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certifications and lists SOC 2 Type II, which makes it relevant to Dutch healthcare organisations and other buyers focused on GDPR. The service suits European developers, SaaS companies and IT teams that want an alternative to the US hyperscalers. Its main limitation is breadth. There is no serverless platform or CDN, managed databases are still in beta, there are only two regions, and almost no public user reviews exist yet.

Who Cyso Cloud is best for

Good fit

  • The OpenStack API, CLI and Terraform support suit teams that automate their infrastructure.

  • NEN 7510 certification targets Dutch healthcare data requirements.

  • Managed Kubernetes and object storage hosted in the EU fit SaaS products that need data sovereignty.

Less suited

  • Standard OpenStack tooling and geo-redundant regions in Amsterdam and Frankfurt suit IT operations teams.

  • Dutch ownership and European data centres help, but the provider lacks broader EU certifications such as BSI C5.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The standard OpenStack API means Terraform, Ansible and the OpenStack CLI work without proprietary tooling, which lowers lock-in.
  • Dutch-owned and hosted in European data centres in Amsterdam and Frankfurt, which supports GDPR and sovereignty requirements.
  • ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 certifications suit Dutch healthcare buyers.
  • Hourly billing with clear EUR rates per resource, free ingress and free IPv6.
  • Gardener-based managed Kubernetes with a 99.9% SLA and an optional highly available control plane.

Cons

  • Only two regions, both in Europe, with no global footprint or CDN.
  • Managed databases are still in beta and support PostgreSQL only, and there is no serverless offering.
  • Object storage egress costs 0.055 EUR per GB, the same as the storage rate.
  • Almost no independent user reviews, as G2 lists none.
