Overview
ChatGPT is OpenAI's AI assistant. People use it to draft and summarize text, analyze uploaded files, run deep research, generate images, hold voice conversations and write code through Codex. Newer agent features go further. ChatGPT Work takes a goal, collects context, makes a plan and asks for approval when needed. Business Premium and Pro subscribers in eligible markets also get Dots, which are always-on agents. Custom GPTs, projects and scheduled tasks let users package repeat workflows. On Business and Enterprise, plugins connect ChatGPT to tools such as Slack, Gmail, Asana, Figma and Vercel, and Company Knowledge answers questions from internal data. The product covers a wide range of buyers, from freelancers on the $8 Go or $20 Plus plans to heavy researchers and coders on Pro tiers at $100, $200 or $500 a month. Business has a two-seat minimum. Standard seats cost $25 per user per month, or $20 billed annually. Premium seats cost $125, or $100 billed annually, and carry about five times the usage with no five-hour cap. Enterprise is priced through sales and adds SCIM, role-based access and data residency. Usage of the developer API is billed separately from all subscriptions. The main limitation is that usage caps and model access change by plan and are adjusted often, so heavy users regularly hit limits. Reviewers also report confident but wrong answers, which means output still needs human checking.
